Recently I develop a new pet peeves : round the number on bearings. For example, if 2 found points are 5280’ apart, and the bearing is N 02-04-01 E or N 02-03-59 E, I just hold it to be N 02-04-00 E. This happens because I just done a lot of surveys along the bayou, so when meandering along the center line of the bayou, instead of holding whatever points the field guys pickup, I just round them to an even number on bearing and distances that is close to the field. I think the map looks better that way.
Of course, if the found bearing and distance are close to a well recorded bearing, then I will hold the record bearing and distance.
