Use Word AutoCorrect for shorthand

Snap 2017-05-06 at 07.56.57

Word AutoCorrect is not only useful for correcting spelling, you can also use it to shorthand common phrases in writing metes & bounds or other business documents. For example, replace Vol = Volume or Pg = Page. To set up AutoCorrect under File / Option / AutoCorrect. Just make sure the shorthand are unique but also easy to remember.

Here is a list of shorthand that I use:

ADL = “ACCESS DENIAL LINE”
f1/2ip = found 1/2-inch iron pipe
HCMR = H.C.M.R.
HCMRf = Harris County Map Records
herein = herein described tract
hereinp = herein described parcel
OPRf = Official Public Records
nwl = northwest line
necr = northeast corner
rowl = right-of-way line
