I have no problems with card standard. It just that the standard has to be self explained at least.
I'm talking about the Ncs layer standard names. I can get survey layer start with V-, but what up major group V-DTCH and V-TOPO and V-SITE? I want to draw a high bank, put it on layer V-Dtch-top and thought it is clear, but noooo, the client thought it should be on V-dtch, V-dtch-top should be reserved for high bank but in profile view. Then the grade break should be on V-topo but then layer V-brkl-grbk just staring at me. Why?
When I use layer V-prop, my coworker assumed I am drawing proposed lines. V-Rway sounds line railway/railroad or right-of-way. Should I use V-rway or V-rway-line or V-Esmt-rway?
This could go on. The thing is the layer name could make sense to somebody, but not for others. I can't read mind, and i don't have time to read mind. If you have standard make sure they are clear and self explained.
